Valentine's Day

So since Valentine's Day is only a couple weeks away, and because stuff for the Queen of Hearts works with Valentine's Day also, I decided to go ahead and add that as a theme too.

My whole "themes" idea is still very much a work in progress. I realize in my searches I come across a lot of neat things I'm eager to share, so I might just do more themes at a time. Since they're easy to find via the "Themes" list on the right, I think my blog still won't get too disorganized ;)

Anywho, onto the Valentine's Day stuff.

Remember Me

Heart Tattoos

Dreaming Bedroom - heart-shaped lamp, must download the whole set, but you should be able to delete anything you don't want during installation

More Alice Stuff

So I realized I had wanted to include pictures along with the links to content to save you time (no sense in clicking a link and looking for an item if it doesn't interest you in the first place :P), and I completely forgot, so I'll go back and edit my other post ASAP.

I found a few more Alice goodies. I know I've come across more recently and I'm having trouble re-finding them. D'oh! So I'll have to peruse my downloaded custom content and see if I can relocate them.

Sims:

Anne Hathaway - someone just uploaded this today! Perfect if you want to make the White Queen from Tim Burton's AIW...just give her some blonde hair ;)

Card's Tea Party

Heart Shaped Rug - I liked the idea of using this in the Queen of Hearts' castle :)

Themes...

So, I've been trying to decide the best way to setup this blog as far as sharing links to the cool custom content I find, but still keeping it organized. There is soooo much custom content for the Sims 3 now, I can see this blog getting messy and hard to navigate sort of quickly. So I'm thinking about doing a different theme each week or every few days or whenever I see fit, and hunting down custom content to link to, within that theme.

I've decided to start off with "Alice In Wonderland", since I've been looking for Alice CC lately anyway (and because I've finally updated my Lost In Wonderland blog...sorry shameless plug!). So below are just a few things I've found, and I'll make further posts when I find more!

Full Sims:
Alice (as a little girl)

Clothing & Accessories:
The Mad Hatter's Hat (Johnny Depp's Hatter; hat is an accessory so can be worn with any hairstyle!)

American McGee's Alice dress

Objects:
Simified Tim Burton's Alice poster

"Real" Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland posters  (several different designs)

More Tim Burton's AIW posters (several different kinds)

Decorative Giant Mushrooms

Small Mushrooms  (despite being TSR, this item is free but you have to register)

More Mushrooms (TSR free with registration)

The Sims Resource actually has a ton of free Alice stuff, so I'm not going to individually link to all of it. Just type in "Wonderland" in the search box, after registering.

American McGee's Alice poster

The Sims Store (pay):
The Sims Store recently came out with a set called Through The Spy Glass, which is obviously Alice inspired. Why they didn't just call it Through The Looking Glass is beyond me :P

Okay, it's getting late, so I'll try to find and post more links tomorrow. I also might add another more general theme too, since this blog is so new and doesn't have much content yet. So be sure to check back!

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to my new blog: LollySims! This blog will mostly feature stuff about The Sims 3, but don't be surprised if I reminisce about Sims 1 and 2 on occasion ;) The main purpose of this blog is to share links to some great custom content, as well as review new expansion packs when they come out, share my experiences with Sims 3, and hopefully offer my own stuff (probably lots and Sims) to download eventually!

So, just a quick introduction, my name is Laura aka LollySims. I've been using that name since Sims 1 (which I actually have a website by that name with Sims 1 content floating around the world wide web somewhere!). Not a whole lot of backstory to that name. My nickname has been "Lolly" since I was a kid, and so I just tacked it onto "Sims" so I could easily remember my username at various Sims forums and websites. I mostly frequent ModTheSims, so maybe you've seen me post there...or not...that's cool :)

The Sims franchise has been an obsession of mine for years now. Starting with Sims 1, its expansions, Sims 2, and its expansions, and now Sims 3 and its expansions (just got "Late Night" this past Christmas, so have been playing Bridgeport a lot lately). I consider myself a creative person, I've been writing novels since I was thirteen, so Sims is a great outlet for storytelling and even helps with writer's block sometimes. As much flack as the makers of The Sims get, I honestly think there is no game out there that even comes close to offering the freedom and creativity that the Sims franchise gives its players. That's not to say I don't get irked by the bugs that come out with each expansion pack, but sometimes I feel like enough credit isn't given for what we DO get, because let's face it...the Sims fans have high expectations and long lists of wants they'd like to have available in the game, myself included, and no game/expansion pack could really live up to it.

That being said, I don't know about everyone else, but there's a new expansion pack slated for release in May, and I'm hoping it features weather AND pets AND professions suited for both!  Hey, a girl can dream! ;)
